American Friends Service Committee's Speak For Peace Tour

Raed Jarrar: Currently working as the Iraq consultant for the American Friends Service Committee, based in Washington DC. Following the fall of Baghdad in April 2003, Raed became the country director for the only door-to-door casualty survey group in post-invasion Iraq. He moved to the United States in 2005, where he has been working on ending the occupation. Raed is a frequent guest on 'Democracy Now' and is a well-known blogger: http://raedinthemiddle.blogspot.com/ Eugene Cherry: He was deployed in 2004 to Iraq, where he worked as a medic and was later assigned to a personal security detachment. He returned in 2005 with symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Eugene went AWOL for 16 months before turning himself in. He was eventurally given an honorable discharge and is now working with various groups, helping to spread the word about the consequences of military service.
