We're starting small and planning on expanding. So for the moment, you may participate in RootsWire if you are blogging from the Democratic Convention in August.

After we get that all running happily (probably in early July) we will start taking on Place Blogs and Political Blogs in Wisconsin.

After that things get fuzzy, but trust me, we'll be doing more.

In the mean time, feel free to make comments and contribute your ideas.

Is the president a megalomaniac? Of COURSE you can advertise on RootsWire, and we appreciate the support. Currently we have two means of advertising. You may either advertise through BlogAds - look at the block at the top right corner of the site, where it says "RootsWire Sponsors". Click on the Advertiser Here link. Buy an ad instantly.

Or you can contact the good folks at Clicktoblue - they also handle advertising for us.

Oh yes, and many of them. There are RSS feeds available for almost any name, place, or other thing you'd like to be fed by. Take a look at the site map page, listed on the top of the site. It includes different parts and categories on the site, and a link to the RSS feed associated with that term.

RootsWire is an ongoing experiment in grassroots journalism. Our plan is to pull together the best in placeblogging and progressive political news from grassroots sites around the country, and to present them in one place.

We are starting by covering the 2008 Democratic Convention in Denver. Our plans are then to expand to cover Wisconsin, where we are based, and from there to spread out throughout the US.
