Sam Nunn

NJ Clinton Delegate Did NOT Say He Wouldn't Vote For Obama

A response from Steven to the post earlier today -- Hopeful.

Hi, everyone.  My friend Creed Pogue blasted me in another posting.  He entitled to his view.  Here I'd like to refute him.

Creed's headline, Clinton Delegate Says He Wouldn't Vote For Obama, is nuts.  Creed is referring to me, a Clinton delegate.   I'm a Democrat, I bleed Democrat, I'm voting for the Presidential nominee of my party, period.

Specifically, Creed is referring to the article in PolitickerNJ.com today in which I was quoted as saying I would not vote for Obama if he chose Sam Nunn as his running mate.  Yes, that's true, I was quoted correctly.  But it's not the same thing as a headline that would have you believe I'm not voting for Obama in November, period.

And Obama Picks ....

Presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama has made his decision ... but he won't reveal it before Saturday, when he announces it to the world in Springfield, IL, where he started this incredible journey.

There's been a lotta speculatin' going on. Lots of folks are saying it's going to be Governor Tim Kaine of Virginia. Others swear it's going to be Senator Joe Biden of Delaware. Some are hoping to see Governor Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas.

I have a hunch that it's going to be someone we all know. Someone who has made a run for the Presidency before. And someone who's been on the road stumping for Obama for the past few months.

John Kerry.

I don't necessarily buy the argument of #2 in that link, but I think it would be an inspired choice, mainly because it seems that Obama and Kerry get along ...

GSE leader Steven Goldstein said that if Barack Obama were to pick Sam Nunn as his vice-presidential running mate then Goldstein wouldn't vote for Obama.

Part of the compact in going to the Convention is that you will support the presidential nominee of the Democratic Party.  Steven has just joined the PUMA idiots.

Either Steven should retract his ill-advised attempt at to grab attention, or he should resign as a delegate or the delegation should file a protest with the Credentials Committee to have him removed.

If you want the publicity and the authority, then you have to handle the responsibility.

The Audacity of Victory

There was a recent Simpsons Episode where Ralph Wiggum was drafted by Democrats and Republicans to run for President.  It was pretty funny, about a B+.  But what really cracked me up was the "Springfield Democratic Party", which consisted of a flaming gay guy, an Arianna Huffington rip-off, and others.  The funniest line came from the Huffington character, who said something along the lines of "With Wiggum we can't lose, but somehow we'll manage too."

Party bases are ridiculous.  I'll say, the extreme left makes me grit my teeth almost as much as the extreme right.  Those liberal loonies who voted for Nader because Gore was "too conservative" are pretty much my shining example of how the base can be very, VERY stupid at times.  So how does the "Almost-Huffington" quote relate to the base?  In both parties, the base would rather lose on a pure-message than win on a good one.  I, on the other hand, am the opposite: I'd rather win and get some of what I want done than lose and get none of it.
