With early voting going on arond the country my wife and I decided to go ahead and have the satisfaction of having it completed. As I wrote in a previous post, I was a bit suspicious of our local clerk here in our little town of 1200 between Milwaukee and Madison, since the early voting was occuring in her home and she has a McCain sign by the driveway and bumpersticker on her car. I emailed the campaign as well as posted on UppityWisconsinearlier and except for couple people saying this didn't seem quite right there were no alarmed responses or indications what to do instead, so I figured maybe I'm just being paranoid. I assumed the voting itself would be anonymous, and the votes would be locked up until election day--i.e. there must be a security process involved when a county clerk is partisan so that obvious tampering with the vote is difficult or impossible.
