McCain and Palin will be in Colorado Springs... not sure which day though

I just found this Google ad and had to share it:
Now I know things are different in "The Springs" but my calendar says that Saturday is September 6th.

And if you're in town... go ahead and get your free tickets! You can hand out John McCain's pork barrel spending list which has Palin's name on it 3 times.

The Colorado Democratic Party will be there too...

What are you doing during McCain's Speech?

While Johnny McCondo formally accepts the Republican nomination this evening, the lingering question remains: what will you be doing? The tempting answer is to follow Matt's post and say "watching football," which at any other time I may be doing.

But the fact is that I've never been more motivated to work for a candidate than I am in 2008. Not just to work for Barack Obama and see him elected as President, but because I truly believe that eight more years of Republican rule could cause irreparable harm to our country. I've mentioned before that I think the composition of the Supreme Court and the impending retirement of three justices is of particular concern to me. But also the economy, healthcare and our relationships with other nations are all items that cannot continue down the same path.

Which brings me to tonight.

Colorado Invesco winners notified this week

The Colorado Democratic party has announced that over 80,000 people applied for tickets to see Obama's acceptance speech. And the lucky winners will be notified by email, cell phone, or regular phone, by this Friday at 9:00 MDT, and have to pick up their tickets by the end of the weekend.

Things have been strangely quiet from the other 49 states.

Live blogging with Jared Polis

I'm spending most of the rest of today at Polis HQ in Boulder and will do a little live blogging with Jared himself in a few minutes.  Throughout the day I'll update with campaigny goodness on this the day where we learn who will be the next Congressperson to replace Mark Udall.

I noticed this going up yesterday while biking riding just north of the Colorado Democratic Party HQ.  I'm not sure who Tim is or why he wants Udall and Polis to occupy essentially the same seat.  I'm sure there was a minor miscommunication in the sign.  And, what kind of GOTV is going to happen for CO-02 in the middle of Denver anyway?

Coordinated Campaign Reshuffle

We reported in June that the Colorado Democratic Party's arm of the Obama campaign, the "Campaign for Change" announced that it was going to run its own field program. That left the CDP's Federal campaign, "Forward Colorado", as the Party's field operation for Udall, Markey, and all other Federal races except for the Presidential one.

Plans are again changing. The Obama campaign and Forward Colorado are in a meeting this afternoon to reorganize their field efforts in the Denver area.
